Aloha.
I'm Minette Lew-McCabe, a Hawaii-based grant, proposal, business plan, and technical writer.
I can help sell your vision.
About
1've been involved in some form of proposal writing and marketing for more than 15 years, developing expertise during that time in diverse sectors such as Health & Human Services, Business, Education, Information Technology, Construction, the Environment, and Arts. I have experience with private foundations, all types of government grants (Federal, State, County), and corporate pitches.
I have a rare combination of right- and left-brained skills which allow me to develop innovative strategies and solutions. Formerly, I worked as an infographics designer at a newspaper, so I'm used to making complex concepts easy to understand. My work has consistently resulted in surpassing funding goals, successful audits, and positive feedback from stakeholders.

Pricing
My rates range from $50 to $80 per hour and are dependent on the complexity of work. Most nonprofit grants will be at the lower end, while technical writing will be at the higher end. A very general estimate would budget about one hour per page of around 350-400 words, not including time spent on strategy consulting. "Rush jobs" will also incur additional costs if accepted.
"Do you work on commission?"
According to the Association of Fundraising Professional's Code of Ethical Principles & Standards, contingency-based compensation is not allowed. Therefore, for nonprofit grants, the answer is no. However, for corporate for-profit proposals, this can be explored.
"What if I can't afford a grant writer?"
If your idea is innovative and focused on IT/software, manufacturing/value added agriculture, defense, creative media, aquaculture, or renewable energy, state funding may be available for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant applications.
